Most patients come in for a dental hygiene appointment and teeth cleaning every 6 months, although some may benefit from coming in every 3-4 months, while others may be able to visit every 9-12 months. Home-care, genetics, grinding habits, and the position of teeth are all key factors in determining the best oral hygiene and cleaning schedule for each patient. For those experiencing gum disease, loose teeth, heavy staining, or heavy calculus buildup, a higher frequency of cleaning will keep teeth healthier. We will discuss with you how often you should visit us for a dental hygiene checkup and/or teeth cleaning appointment based on your individual and specific needs.
